TL;DR story time!
I work at a grocery store, and there is the woman who comes once a month with two cart load order. She also comes with about 500 coupons and 50 rainchecks. But anyway, it is policy at our store that if we have people bagging, or people who are unable to carry their own groceries, that it is helpful but not required to put the bagged groceries in the cart. I am, however obligated to bag as I cash. Most customers in the interest of saving their own time will help bag their own order, especially when it’s a large one. Oh, but not this lady.
She always comes at rush hour. She specifically stands and watches you bag everything with her arms folded across her chest (which is tough when you need things back for all her rainchecks) and then just tends to stand there like an idiot. I’ve had her come into lanes I’ve bagged for before and I have been asked for an override in between bagging her massive order and she had went off on me several times. All about how my store has no common decency to escort her throughout her adventure to the grocery store from start to finish without her having to lift a single bag. Her child has even commented a few times and asked why she isn’t helping. She is just ridiculous.
On top of that, she causes a very long line to queue up at this point because of her laziness. So the last time she came in (I was on express by the way), she came to my line claiming all the other lines were crowded. I turned off my express sign since I only let her come through so I could get my revenge. I bagged every last one of her groceries and simply left the bags on the secondary belt, I’d say in total there were about 35-40 or so bags. I got through the transaction and took her money and handed her the receipt.  I said ‘Have a nice day’ and continued with my next customer. She cleared her throat to get my attention, and when I didn’t give it to her, she slammed her hands down onto my scanner so I couldn’t scan the next customer out and demanded I fill her cart. I explained that we had no baggers staffed (which we don’t staff people just to bag) and that I had a line of more than 5 people because of her large order and that I had to get the line going. She demanded to speak to a manager. I showed her the manager store card I had in my hand. Only making her more pissed, she walked over to a fellow Customer Service lead and one of my best friends that works there and complains that I won’t put the shit in her cart. He came over and told her that it’s not the cashier’s job to put the entirety of her her order into her cart. She huffed off, claiming she would have me fired. I still work there, by the way, as a Customer Service Lead too.
My friend told me next time she comes in, bag only one bags worth of her shit and not continue her order until she takes that bag and puts it in her own damn cart.

NO I REFUSE TO BELIEVE PEOPLE LIKE THIS EXIST

I’ve had the same thing happen to me many times when I worked at Stop n Shop in Queens, some people are so goddamn lazy
